Dear Childhood

                       

Dear Childhood,

It’s been very long, since I wrote to you;

Since I thought about you, for you.

Hope you are fine, and me…

rather repeating the same lie,

at-least this time, I wish 

to share how truly I am.

 

Everything had changed, drastically it did…

As time faded, the innocent smiles too

All your dearest dolls that gave me joy,

now turned into mobiles that only make me annoy.

The rhymes you taught me to recite

had become songs, that soulfully

matches my melancholy in quite.

 

Your lightest heart now carries the heaviest weight;

baring nd breaking, again nd again.

From running behind butterflies, I now

run from myself; distancing one nd all.

The fantasies of fairytale nd choco world,

now seems as fearful nightmares;

 

Above all, in spite of crossing numerous phases,

 Am unable to find that peaceful sleep always;

 I still remember telling you,

that I must grow up soon; but

Little did I know it was never a boon!

 

The same time, there are few rainbows too;

That exists until light shines onto.

When I make somebody smile,

that delights me for awhile.

When I see a toddler playing aside,

I remember you by my side!

Slowly, I started to perceive

what life is trying to teach....

nd all I learnt was:

Whatever it was nd it is,

everything makes me strong like a diamond;

bonded by courage and confidence!

Neither life is perfect nor I am, but

I learnt to gracefully embrace them.

 

So Yes! No matter am you or me,

as I had lived both of me;

From a soft nd subtle you

to a strong nd sensible me,

I realize, rejoice and remembered

all this is me, one nd only ME!

 

With so much love and pride,

for still heading this ride;

I wave a goodbye,

Yours myself thereby.
